Racial Stereotyping in the wild

Big Scary Lion
Imagine a pride of lions out in the African savanna. Strong , fierce , and tough animals that are like kings to the other animals. Suddenly they spot 3 monkeys throwing poop at each other. They say to the other animals that all monkeys are dirty creatures and then from there on all the monkeys are treated badly by the other animals in the savanna. This is called Stereotyping. where a group of people or things is judged on a few individuals or actions the group makes. And the most common type of stereotyping is Racial Stereotyping. You wouldn't want to be called mean or stupid because of someone else's actions would you?

Love Circle
In schools across the U.S. blacks, Asians , and Hispanics are being treated poorly because of other people in their race doing bad things. Kids just like you that are between 4 and 11 years old are creating racial stereotypes and it is making a lot of kids upset (1). Just because the majority of us are white doesn't mean that we are any better than other people just as the lions aren't any better than the other animals in the jungle. We all have our flaws but the important part is that we are all nice to each other.

Black Youth

It is a fact that 51% of black kids are seen as violent because of the bad things some black adults do (2). They didn't do anything but other kids stay away from them because they feel threatened. This is not the type of thinking you want to have. Everyone should be treated based on their actions not anyone else , even if they are in their race. If everyone gets along and stops creating stereotypes than the world will be a better place for you and for me.

Love Each Other
If we end racial stereotyping then all kids will be happy that they can go to school and not be judged based on other people's actions. Two of the most common stereotypes are that 19% of all kids think blacks are stupid and that 30% of all kids think Asians are lazy (2). These came from kids just like you and I think with your help we can end them all. We can all learn to love each other and get along
